I’ve come to realize that at this stage the language I choose to learn is not important. I need to learn the concepts of coding and have a “problem solving” mindset. With that said, I did reach out to the person whose story has inspired me the most (Joshua Kemp - http://joshuakemp.blogspot.com/) and when I asked him if he would still would go with ruby if he had to start over today he suggested python.

I did some research of my own and find Python to be the sensible choice for me. But as I said up top, I am not even there yet. I just need to have a clear goal to work towards to.

P.S: Immigration Visa has been approved. Will be moving to Texas in the next few months.

Hello World!

This blog will serve as documentation about my personal journey into switching careers.

I am 36 and have been working at a call center in the Dominican Republic for the past 12 years of my life (currently a team manager).

I am going to focus on going over the Odin Project curriculum in order to land a developer job in the next year.

The family and I will be migrating to the US soon (my wife is already there) as we want to provide our 7 year old daughter with better opportunities.

I expect to be able to hold myself accountable with this blog and to cement the things I learn by trying to explain them on here. One day I will look back and realize just how far this journey has taken me.
